Sea trials on the first K130 Batch II corvette of the German Navy

The first of five new corvettes for the German Navy departed NVL Shipyard as scheduled for its first sea trials. On its approximately three-week voyage, the corvette first sails into the North Sea for initial tests around Helgoland. After a short break the ship will continue its sea tests through Skagerrak.

The aim of the North Sea voyages is the so-called “functional proof of platform”. The employees of the participating shipyards check the entire ship technology.

The new corvettes (boats 6-10) are manufactured under the leadership of the NVL Group at several North German shipyards. Boats 6, 7 and 8 are currently in different stages of final equipment, boat 9 in the manufacturing phase. Boat 10 was laid down as planned in March of this year.
