Two RHIBS for the Malta Police Force were inaugurated

Two rhibs were inaugurated for the Police Force, co-financed by European funds. The aim of this investment is to strengthen the capacities of the Police Force in border surveillance. Present for the inauguration were the Minister for the Interior, Security, Reforms and Equality Byron Camilleri, the Parliamentary Secretary for European Funds Chris Bonett and the Police Commissioner Angelo Gafà.

Minister Byron Camilleri explained how today’s investment continues to complement the strong investment made in the Police Force in recent years.

The Parliamentary Secretary for European Funds Chris Bonett said that this investment is part of the ‘Malta Police Force’s Specific Actions for Border Surveillance’ project, where the Police Force was given €2.6 million from the said Fund in order to have more equipment to further strengthen the surveillance and security of our country.

For his part, Police Commissioner Angelo Gafà said that with this investment the Police Force is continuing to strengthen its fleet and is therefore making the life of the Force’s officers a better one. He explained that with this investment the Police Force is strengthening its surveillance on the shores of our country and therefore making our country one of the safest countries.
