Commissioning of Star Princess at Monfalcone

- It is the second LNG-powered cruise ship built for Princess Cruises

The commissioning of Star Princess, the second ship of the Sphere class of Princess Cruises, a brand of the Carnival Corporation Group, took place in Monfalcone; the first of the class is Sun Princess.

Both cruise ships are dual-fuel, powered primarily by liquefied natural gas (LNG), the cleanest marine fuel currently available on a large scale on the market.

Star Princess will accommodate 4,300 guests and, like Sun Princess, is based on a next-generation platform design. Sun Princess will be delivered in the first quarter of 2024 and Star Princess in 2025.

Princess Cruises, a leading international shipping company and tour operator, currently operates a fleet of 15 modern cruise ships, transporting millions of guests every year to 330 destinations around the world.
