Qatar orders two fast attack craft from Dearsan

A deal has been reached between the Qatari Emiri Navy and Dearsan Shipyard for the design and construction of two 50-meter swift attack craft units.

The contract was signed on March 5 at the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition (DIMDEX), per a social media post from Daersan Shipyard.

Commander of the Qatari Emiri Navy Maj. Gen. Abdullah bin Hassan Al SULAİTİ, President of the Defense Industry Agency Haluk GÖRGÜN, and Chairman of Dearsan Aziz YILDIRIM were present at the occasion.
The shipbuilder claims that the warships will be able to carry out efficient tasks related to asymmetric warfare, patrol, and territorial waterway defense.

In addition, missions including anti-piracy, search and rescue, reconnaissance and surveillance, disaster relief operations, border control, and base/port security will be included.

Fast attack craft will be outfitted with asymmetric warfare, air defense, and surface weaponry.

Daersan Shipyard, a Turkish shipbuilding company, is presently constructing two offshore patrol vessels (OPVs) for the Nigerian Navy. Two high-endurance offshore patrol boats had their keel laying ceremonies held in 2022.
