UTair Mil-8 stops over in Malta

This afternoon saw the arrival and some time after the departure of a United Nations World Food Programme marked Mil-8. The helicopter is owned by UTair Helicopter Services and operated for the World Food Programme, United Nations Humanitarian Air Service.

The Mi-8 is a Multi-purpose medium class helicopter. Reliable, simple and convenient operation of this helicopter made it the most commonly used around the world. Unique combination of flight, technical and operational performance made it possible to create more than 100 modification on the basis of Mi-8T helicopter. The helicopter is also fitted with external sling system for transportation of oversize and large-scale cargo of up to 3 tonnes.

The helicopter structure and equipment allow operating it while in stand-alone deployment at unequipped landing sites.
