Italian Coast Guard launches the CP422 “Aurelio Visalli”

The launch of the new ship of the Corpo delle Capitanerie di Porto – Guardia Costiera (Italian Coast Guard) took place yesterday in Messina, the CP422 “Aurelio Visalli”, takes its name from the Non-commissioned Officer of the Corps Gold Medal for Valor of the Navy.

The ship was launched at Intermarine shipyards (Immsi Group) in Messina in the presence of the Commander General, Adm. Carlone

The CP422 – co-financed with European funds as part of the Internal Security Fund 2014/2020 – is the second patrol boat of a new class of naval units called “Angeli del Mare” (Angels of the Sea), dedicated to those who lost their lives in service with generosity and sacrifice; ships designed for search and rescue at sea, even with particularly adverse weather conditions.

With its 34 meters in length, it represents a concentration of technology equipped with an advanced command and control system capable of ensuring greater autonomy, and better logistics not only for the crew, but also for the shelter of any shipwrecked people present at edge.
