Med9 Summit held in Malta

The Med9 is high-level summit made up of nine Mediterranean and Southern European member states. These are Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece, Cyprus, and Malta.

The group was informally established in 2013 in Brussels, and later was decided that the group would hold an annual meeting at ministerial level to discuss common security and stability issues. This is the second summit to be held in Malta, but the first to include all nine member states.

A number of Mediterranean Leaders arrived between Thursday and Friday for this meeting.

Members of Horizon have captured some of the Governmental and Military aircraft flying in with their distinguished guests. The first to arrive was the Croatian Government Challenger 604 on Thursday evening. On Friday morning the Hellenic Air Force arrived with a Dassault Falcon 7X which touched down for the first time at Malta International Airport followed by a Dassault Falcon 50 of the Portugese Air Force and two Dassault Falcon 7X of the French Air Force. Once again the Italian Air Force arrived with an Airbus A319 whilst Cyprus chartered an Airbus A320 of Tus Airways.
