Start of the Bilateral Exercise FALCON EYE 3

From today, Wednesday November 9 to Friday, November 18, 2022, the bilateral LIVEX Exercise (Live Exercise) will take place under the name “FALCON EYE – 3”, between the Armed Forces of Greece and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and will take place from Souda Air Base.

The exercise is part of the wider network of international activities with friendly and allied countries that has been planned, coordinated and carried out by GEETHA, with the aim of deepening the cooperation of the two countries, through the execution of demanding scenarios that maximize the training benefit and increase the combat capability of participants and their interoperability.

“FALCON EYE – 3” is a continuation of the exercises “FALCON EYE – 1” and “FALCON EYE – 2” and in its context 6 F-15 Fighter Aircraft, 7 C-130 Transport Aircraft have been rdeployed, 1 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft as well as ROYAL SAUDI AIR FORCE (RSAF) ground support personnel at Souda Air Base.

The exercise will be held in the Athens FIR with the execution of complex Air Supremacy Operations [Defensive Counter Air (DCA) vs Offensive Counter Air (OCA)] and Air Combat Training between different types of Aircraft (Dissimilar Air Combat Training – DACT), while on Friday November 18 will be the Distinguished Visitors Day (DV DAY).
