The first high performance pressurised single-engine turboprop to receive certification was the TBM 700 in 1990. The initial model (TBM 700A) was followed by the B model, which included newly designed seats to increase comfort and a huge access door to facilitate easier passenger and baggage loading. The TBM700, which is used by the Army and Air Force, has only had one military customer: France. With a fleet size of 23, both arms of the French military use the type as VIP and utility transport aircraft.
